  • Blessing scent

A little goes a long way! The scent reminds me of being in church when the priest walks around with incense. It's such a familiar and comforting smell. I like using a little during my morning prayers, but honestly, sometimes I just enjoy the scent on its own. I also really like that it's made with simple ingredients. Definitely happy with this purchase! Mary T. ★★★★★

Absolutely beautiful and highly recommend! Linda P. ★★★★★

  • Church from years ago in a bottle!

Absolutely love this! The scent takes me right back to my childhood, going to Sunday Mass at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans. Such a beautiful, comforting smell that brings back so many memories. Catherine M. ★★★★★

Is This Right For Me

"Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense." Psalm 141:2

Frankincense and myrrh are not new, and they are not fringe. About 3,500 years ago, Egypt's Queen Hatshepsut sent ships to the Land of Punt, on Africa's eastern coast, to bring back living myrrh trees. The voyage is still carved on her temple walls at Deir el-Bahari. In 2020, archaeologists testing the altars of an ancient shrine at Tel Arad, in the kingdom of Judah, found frankincense residue burned into the stone. Scripture names frankincense in the holy incense (Exodus 30:34) and myrrh as the first spice of the anointing oil (Exodus 30:23). The wise men laid both before Jesus (Matthew 2:11), and Nicodemus carried myrrh to His tomb (John 19:39).

Anointing did not end with the apostles. James told the church to pray over the sick with oil (James 5:14), and around 215 AD the church order known as the Apostolic Tradition still recorded a prayer over oil brought by believers. Then in 1551 the Council of Trent reserved anointing to priests, and in 1552 the English Book of Common Prayer removed it altogether. For most believers today, frankincense and myrrh are a line in a Christmas carol. This oil puts them back in your hands: frankincense and myrrh from East Africa, blended with blessed virgin olive oil from Jerusalem, for your own prayer. Nothing is taken from you. You simply pray the way God's people always have.*

Why prayer can feel far away

If Prayer Feels Like Going Through the Motions, You May Have Only Been Handed Half of It

The words that stop at the ceiling. The chapter you read at night and can't remember by morning. The quick "sorry, Lord" before the ten thousand things that need doing.

You've been told to pray more and try harder. But the faith in your Bible was never words alone. God's people prayed with something in their hands: incense rising before Him every morning, oil poured out to mark a moment as His. Most of us were taught the words and never shown the rest.

And the anointing oils on the shelf don't fill the gap. Turn one over and you'll find the word "fragrance" and a cross on the label. Nothing tells you where it came from, or why it belongs in your prayer.

What's inside

The Three Things Scripture Places Where God Met His People, Blended Into One Small Bottle

  • Frankincense, the fragrance of prayer. It burned before the Lord every morning and evening, and David asked that his prayer rise like it (Psalm 141:2).
  • Myrrh, the gift laid before Jesus as a child and carried to His tomb (Matthew 2:11, John 19:39).
  • Olive oil, the oil of anointing. "Thou anointest my head with oil" (Psalm 23:5).

Ours brings frankincense and myrrh from East Africa together with blessed virgin olive oil from Jerusalem. Our perfumers blend each oil with care and reverence. Every ingredient is named, every origin is stated, and every one has a verse you can read tonight.

Using it is simple: open your Bible, touch one drop to your forehead, wrists or over your heart, and tell Him what you're carrying. There's no plan to keep up with. It's just a way to begin.

Why Rala

Any Bottle Can Say Anointing Oil. This One Can Tell You Why.

  • Ready the moment it arrives. It comes already blended, with nothing to mix and nothing to learn. One drop, a few seconds, then your own words.
  • A little goes a long way. One drop is all a prayer takes, and the warm, woody scent stays with you for hours. Many say it smells like the inside of an old church.
  • For you, and for your home. Anoint your forehead, wrists or heart before you pray, or touch a drop to the door frames and windowsills as you pray over your home and everyone in it.
  • Rooted in Scripture, not superstition. It doesn't replace your Bible, your church or your prayers, and you don't need it for God to hear you. Jesus spoke of anointing your head in private devotion (Matthew 6:17). This is that practice, handed back.
  • Small enough to keep close. At 9 ml, it fits beside your Bible, in your purse or in your apron pocket.
  • 60 days to make it yours. If it doesn't become part of the way you pray, send it back for every penny.

Lovely for my morning prayers

This anointing oil smells wonderful. Some oils I've tried have been much too strong for me, but this one has a really pleasant fragrance. I use a little on my forehead when I pray in the morning, and every now and then I catch a hint of the scent throughout the day. I love that.

A little really does go a long way!

Oh my goodness, this oil smells amazing! The bottle may be small, but don't let that put you off. You only need the tiniest amount. I've been using it regularly, and there's still plenty left. The scent is beautiful and lasts a long time. Very happy with the quality!

Reminds me of Catholic church incense

I've been looking for this particular scent for such a long time. It reminds me of the incense used in Catholic churches, especially during funeral Masses. I know that might sound a little strange, but it's a familiar smell that I've always liked. The bottle arrived sealed with no leaks, which I appreciated. I'm happy I finally found something so close to the scent I remember.

Confusing information about where it's made

I was disappointed because I understood from the listing that this oil was made in Jerusalem. When it arrived, the packaging said Mumbai, India. I wish the product description had been clearer about that.

Such a relaxing scent

This smells so lovely. I like putting a little on before bed because I find the scent very calming. It's slightly sweet but not too sweet, if that makes sense. Just a really nice balance. I enjoy wearing it during the day too.

Very strong fragrance

The bottle is pretty, and the oil is as described. I'm not entirely sure what frankincense and myrrh are supposed to smell like, but this definitely has a strong fragrance. You only need a tiny amount. If I use too much, it actually makes me sneeze, so I've learned to be careful. I'll finish this bottle, but I might look for something a little milder next time.

Beautiful and calming

I'm very sensitive to synthetic fragrances, and a lot of them give me headaches or make my throat uncomfortable. Thankfully, this one hasn't bothered me. The fragrance is lovely, and I find it very calming. You only need a tiny dab, too. So pleased with it.

Too strong for me

Before you decide

You Already Know What's In It. The Only Question Left Is Who Else Should Have One.

You already know why frankincense and myrrh belong in your prayer. The only thing left is who else needs a way to begin. Think about your own nightstand first, then the women you pray for. A grown daughter who stopped going to church but still calls you on Sundays. A sister three states away who taught you to pray in the first place. The friend from Bible study who keeps saying she's fine. You can't argue anyone into a closer walk with God. But you can put something in her hands and tell her why you chose it. And the more bottles you add, the less each one costs: $29.93 for one, $25.45 each for two, $23.95 each for three. And with Christmas coming, it's the very gift the wise men brought.

  • One for your nightstand, beside the Bible you already love
  • Two at 15% off each, when there's someone you've been praying for
  • Three at $23.95 a bottle, for your daughter, your sister and your prayer group
  • Arrives boxed and ready to give, with no wrapping needed
  • 60-day money-back guarantee, so the only risk is never opening it

For prayer and blessing my home

I bought this oil to use when praying over my home. I went through each room, said a prayer, and anointed the entrances. Now I also use a little in the mornings before I start my day. I make the sign of the cross on my forehead while I pray. It's become a meaningful part of my prayer time. Love it.

Paula R.

Wish the bottle was bigger

I really like this oil. My only complaint is the size of the bottle. I just wish there was a larger option available.

A special addition to my prayers

I bought two bottles to use during my personal prayer time. I love the connection to the biblical tradition of anointing with oil, especially the passage in Exodus. The scent is very unique, and there's something meaningful to me about using frankincense and myrrh while praying. I'm really glad I found it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping & Returns

Every bottle is blended to order with fresh ingredients, then carefully packed and shipped to you.

Most orders in the USA arrive within 10–15 days.

Need a refund or return? Contact us at hello@getrala.com. We respond 24/7, 7 days a week, and every order is covered by our 60-day money-back guarantee.

Is this rooted in Scripture?

Yes. Frankincense, myrrh and olive oil all appear throughout Scripture, from Exodus to Revelation. The wise men brought frankincense and myrrh to Jesus (Matthew 2:11), and Jesus spoke of anointing your head in private devotion (Matthew 6:17).

Is this the holy anointing oil from Exodus 30?

No. Exodus 30 is where Scripture first names myrrh and olive oil together for anointing, which is why that passage matters to us. But God set that exact recipe apart for the tabernacle. This is a humbler oil, made for your own prayer.

Where do the ingredients come from?

The frankincense and myrrh come from East Africa. They're blended with blessed virgin olive oil from Jerusalem. Our perfumers blend each oil with care and reverence.

How do I use it?

Find a quiet moment for prayer. Carefully place a small amount of oil on your fingertip and gently anoint your forehead or wrists as you turn your heart toward God.

You may also anoint the doorframes of your home while praying for your family and loved ones. Let each anointing be a meaningful expression of faith, devotion, and blessing.

For external use only. Avoid contact with your eyes.

What does it smell like?

Warm, balsamic and softly woody. It isn't perfume. Many say it smells like the inside of an old church. One drop is all you need.

Does it make a good gift?

Yes. It arrives boxed and ready to give. Add a short note saying why you chose it for her.

60-Day Money-Back Guarantee

You have 60 days. If it doesn't become part of the way you pray, email us at hello@getrala.com with your order number for a full refund.
